The Red River Valley Amateur Radio Club (RRVARC) was organized in 1973. The first Club officers were President Bobby Castebury, Vice President Jerry Keisler, Secretary-Treasurer Bertie Todd and Activities Manager John Huffman. From the Paris News (May 27, 1973), the Charter members of the Club were licensed radio operators John Huffman, Aileen Castelbury, Jerry Keisler, Bobby Castlebury, Paul Daniels, Bertie and Alvin Todd, all of Paris.
Members that were studying for a license were Edna Archibald, Pat Keisler, HA Hussey, CL Gugler, Michael Rice, Mary Beth O’Neill and Kay Ransom, all of Paris, and Tommy Shoulders of Clarksville.
Jerry Keisler reached out to ARRL about the status of the Club and ARRL confirmed that it was an affiliated club. That means that 2023 will be the 50th Anniversary of RRVARC being an affiliated club!
