Honor Roll
In 2023 the Club officers officially established four categories of awards: Lifetime Achievement, Distinguished Service, Meritorious Service and annual Club Member of the Year award. Expanded descriptions of these awards can be located at this link. 2023 Awards
Lifetime Achievement – Jerry (WA5KZA) and Patricia “Pat” (WD5FGW) Keisler, Bertie (WB5JFL) and Alvin (WB5EJV) Todd (posthumously) and Mike Rice (WB5KWK).
Distinguished Service – Kelly Collins (W5KJC) – Kelly was given this award in recognition of his twenty years of dedicated service to the Club. From organizing fundraisers to coordinating all of our repeater gains of the last several years to securing access to the Atlas site for our repeater gear; the things he has done for the Club are too many to list.
Meritorious Service – Phillip Beall (W5EBC) was presented this award for his ongoing efforts for the Club. Organizational efforts, structural efforts, website development and content, support for other officers; the officers wished to thank Phillip for his efforts.
Club Member of the Year 2023 – Charles Penry (WA5VHU) – Charles has tirelessly worked to upgrade and enhance the Club repeaters and other repeater support tools such as APRS, supported station Trustee Kelly Collins as the primary alternate Control Operator and simultaneously serving as the Club Field Day Coordinator. In the latter capacity he reintroduced the Club to Winter Field Day and successfully coordinated both events in 2023.
Each of these awards come from the Club via the leadership. We are building a “light box” to take pictures of the glass awards. They have proved to be quite challenging to photograph and have the pictures show just how pretty that they are. We will eventually add a picture of each,
Distinguished Service – Johnny M. Thomas (WB5JT) – Johnny received this award in recognition for all the Elmering he did throughout 2023.
